The best way to obtain high values of Rw (an indicator of the acoustic insulation power of walls) is to exploit the MASS+SPRING+MASS mechanism. This means building double walls divided by sound insulating and sound-blocking materials. The combination of materials whit diverse mechanical characteristics makes it hard for sounds to pass from one room to another, reflecting and absorbing sound waves, and therefore decreasing noises.

ACUSTIC blocks aren’t just used for “double-layer” walls, they are also very useful to build narrow single-layer walls, within a single property, in order to reduce sound transmission among rooms and raise comfort. That is because GASBETON ACUSTIC enables a 2-3 dB increase of the Rw value if compared to “standard” aerated concrete blocks, which is a significant increase considering the limited thickness of internal walls (8-12 cm).
