Isola launches its new Isola Space in Dubai with “Icons of Tomorrow”

From The Middle East

On November 4th, 2025, on the occasion of Dubai Design Week 2025, Isola Design Group unveiled Isola Space, its first physical venue and a new landmark for the international design community. Conceived as a dynamic and hybrid destination, Isola Space brings together an exhibition gallery, design store, café, workspace areas, and an event venue. For its inauguration, Isola presents the group exhibition “Icons of Tomorrow”.

First-of-its-kind for the brand and the Emirati city, Isola Space welcomes the local and international design community: a hybrid environment that reflects the cross-disciplinary nature of the brand. Located at The Lana Promenade, Dorchester Collection, Dubai, only minutes from Dubai Design District, the venue is positioned at the intersection of culture, design, and innovation. Set within Marasi Bay, the landmark waterfront destination envisioned and developed by Dubai’s leading ultra-luxury developer, OMNIYAT, this location anchors the collaboration in a design legacy, linking Isola’s creative presence with OMNIYAT’s commitment to art and culture.

“Since we started our journey with Isola in Milan, we have dreamed of creating a dedicated space for our international community of designers, something that could go beyond design weeks and festivals and we could all call home. This vision was one of the reasons we chose to open a branch of our company in Dubai, and now, just one year later, it is becoming reality. Launching Isola Space at The Lana Promenade, one of the city’s most beautiful and prestigious destinations, marks an important milestone for us. It will be a place where our community can come together, exchange ideas, and shape the future of the design industry, but also a source of inspiration for everyone in the Middle East, from design enthusiasts to collectors, who are seeking new experiences and fresh perspectives.” affirms Gabriele Cavallaro, CEO of Isola Design Group.

Conceived as a dynamic and cultural destination, the space designed by Elif Resitoglu, architect and creative director of Isola, becomes a stage for exhibitions, workshops, presentations, and immersive experiences of collaborative design. Isola Space has been envisioned as a lively and ever-evolving showcase, a place where visitors can discover and experience furniture, materials, and forms firsthand.

The project features three unreleased collaborations designed by Isola and produced by Grob Design, Iconico and Obliq. Grob Design presents a capsule collection of modular aluminum tables created for events, working, and dining exclusively for Isola Space; Iconico contributes with playful 3D-printed coffee tables and stools featuring unique lettering; and Obliq provides a unique custom reception desk and three modules for the display in the design store area.

Alongside these, local contributions include Acumen Light for the lighting of the entire space, Dubai Audio for the hi-fi system, and The Art of Hosting with their culinary experience for the café area.

ICONS OF TOMORROW

Isola Space, The Lana Promenade
November 5 — December 6, 2025; h 10:00am – 8:00pm

Isola Space hosts Icons of Tomorrow, a group exhibition featuring a curated selection of products, collectible, and unique pieces by international designers who are shaping the future of contemporary design. The exhibition brings together creators from Mexico, Poland, Italy, South Korea, Belgium, and beyond. From Epoche Studio’s side table made from a fossil framed in cast aluminum, merging an artifact once in motion with the stillness of cast metal, to Jinil Park’s Drawing Series — a chair, lamp, and side table that create a visual illusion, appearing as flat 2D drawings brought into three-dimensional reality. Aina Kari + Giovanni Botticelli Studio celebrate Venetian tradition with eclectic handmade glass vases and candleholders, while Studio Szkło plays with light and form in glasses that bend reality. Furthermore, the outdoors area hosts an installation featuring seating by Mexa, presented in collaboration with Alkimista, and cylindrical handmade planters by Pots and Pines. The exhibition, open to the public until December 6, is the centerpiece of Isola’s first launch event on November 4, marking the opening of Dubai Design Week 2025.

Participants include: Aina Kari + Giovanni Botticelli Studio, Aleksandra Zawistowska, Anujin Byambaa | RBG18, Chroma Composite (Debonademeo, Marino Amodio, Tellurico Design Studio), Daniel Klein, Element Curations (with a curated selection of Biaban Studio, Hooman Nabavi, and Saghi Behfar design pieces), Epoche Studio, HEA KO, Isola Studio x Grob Design, Jinil Park, Junhyeok Hugo Oh, Marina Baisel, Peerless.

NOTES TO THE EDITORS
ABOUT ISOLA DESIGN GROUP

Milan- and Dubai-based Isola Design Group provides visibility and opportunities to independent designers, design studios, and brands worldwide. The venture runs both Isola Design, the community platform featuring profiles, project portfolios, and direct messaging for the exchange of ideas, and the recently launched Isola Studio, a consultancy studio for future-thinking design brands and organizations.
Isola Design is the world’s first digital and physical platform connecting independent designers and studios with industry professionals, brands, curators, journalists, and clients. Its dedicated curatorial team selects projects with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and handcraft.
Founded in 2017 in Milan, Isola Design District immediately became one of the main official areas of the Milan Design Week, with special attention to international and emerging designers. Isola Design also organizes various in-person events under the umbrella of Isola Design Festival, which takes place throughout the year, hosting dozens of exhibitions, hundreds of exhibitors, and thousands of visitors.
Since 2019, Isola Design has participated in the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, becoming the first Italian design district to participate in a foreign event. Isola Design expanded its borders even further in 2022, when for the first time it led a curated group of designers to the United Arab Emirates for Downtown Design during Dubai Design Week, and in 2023 by taking part in Material Matters at the London Design Festival and Tanween, Ithra’s Conference of Creativity, the largest creativity platform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Launched in 2021 with more than 2.000 designers from 65+ countries and 3.000+ projects published, Isola Design offers a community for creative people around the globe through its digital platform, with dedicated profiles and portfolio pages. The digital platform aims to spark direct community interactions, discussions, and the sharing of expertise.
In 2024, Isola Design Group founded Isola Studio, the new consultancy lab for design brands, organizations, and institutions. Dedicated to creating innovative solutions, Isola Studio shares its multifocal vision with design professionals, startups, companies, and event organizers. Already active in a hybrid form across many countries that are part of the global Isola Design community, Isola Studio has initiated international calls to connect design brands, from lighting to product design, with emerging talents. It has also crafted special setups for Italian companies with branches in Europe and the Middle East, as well as international organizations such as B&T (Turkey), iGuzzini (UAE), Ithra (Saudi Arabia), Masquespacio (Spain), Monkey47 (Germany), Re-Mat (Italy) and The Good Plastic Company (Netherlands), to name a few.
In June 2024 Isola Studio launched its first international design residency, Nitaj, an intensive programme dedicated to lighting design. Conceived for Sama Design – a product design and art studio based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – the residency began in Milan and culminated with an exhibition  in Jeddah showcasing the works created by each participant.
In 2025, Isola Design Group opens Isola Space, its first physical venue in Dubai at The Lana Promenade— a hybrid environment that reflects the multifaceted nature of the brand, bringing together a design store, café, co-working area, and event space.
